"As for the disadvantages of cruising, on the 600-passenger Ovation, they just didn't materialize. The crowds I had imagined weren't there. No morning rush to secure a spot by the pool. Sun or shade, there were plenty of lounges to go around. Likewise, a water-view seat was always available at breakfast, lunch or dinner. Eat when you want, choose who you sit with. Only one of the Ovation's five restaurants (The Grill by Thomas Keller, the Michelin-starred chef behind the French Laundry and Per Se) even needs reservations. And the day we made port in Montenegro, I could choose to join one of the guided excursions or go ashore and do my own thing until it was time to catch a tender back to the ship. Innovative wellbeing - and Elaine Paige - take centre stage on board Seabourn's latest cruise ship
"Dr. Weil, a celebrated TV pundit, has recently partnered with Seabourn to create a mindful living programme for the ultra-luxury cruise line's on-board spas.

Crystal sound bowl therapy, which involves lying down as a therapist plays the bowls in a bid to lull one into a deep trance (and in my case, sleep), is one of the many alternative treatments aboard Ovation, which embarked on its inaugural voyage from Venice to Barcelona. The Design's the Thing on Seabourn Ovation
"The goal with Ovation was to make it feel like a beautiful private yacht, not like a ship. Materials, such as real mahogany railings and marble bathrooms, help. Just Back From Seabourn Ovation – What's New?
"Seabourn Ovation was the first ship to unveil the line's newest dining concept: Earth & Ocean. The alfresco pop-up takes over The Patio, Seabourn's poolside dining venue, replacing the standard self-serve option still available for lunch. Keeping up with The Patio's laidback ambiance, Earth & Ocean—like its predecessor—remains the ship's most casual dinner option despite its lavish, eclectic twist. The brains behind the concept is Seabourn's culinary consultant, Chef Anton Egger, whose world travels inspired the menus (which change nightly over the course of a week) and style, including the contemporary background music and rustic table settings designed by New York-based ceramic artist Wynne Noble. The new concept was well-received on our sailing; in fact, some of the meals were the best we had onboard. If you get cold easily, like we do, there's no need to run back to your suite for another layer. Our waiter must have noticed we were shivering and without asking, brought over a fuzzy blanket and wrapped it around us. This wasn't just a one-time thing, either.
