Seabourn Encore’s Talented Officers
Next month, Seaborn Encore will be the third ship to resume service, with a series of Canary Islands voyages beginning February 19, 2022. The onboard team is very excited to welcome guests back on board and delivering special, unforgettable Seabourn Moments. They are getting the ship ready to ensure that you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. Most of all, they’re looking forward to sharing stories and laughter once again with friends.
Leading the outstanding Seabourn Encore team is a group of talented senior officers with vast experience on the high seas and luxury service. They include:
Captain David Bathgate — Captain Bathgate is a Scot who resides in the south of England and joined Seabourn in 2010. He is an industry veteran with more than decades of experience, including the last 25 years in command of passenger vessels. To him, sailing the world's oceans with Seabourn is his perfect "home away from home," where guests, friends and team members enjoy the camaraderie and superlative onboard experiences, while they also visit amazing destinations with beautiful scenery and sights. He shared a special message for our guests:
"We are all hugely thrilled to be re-kindling these times with our re-start to cruising on Seabourn Encore with our Lisbon-Canary Island itineraries in February 2022. The ship has just completed her routine dry-docking period in Marseilles, France. I am very proud and privileged to be the Captain as we bring Seabourn Encore back into service and look forward to welcoming you on board!"
Hotel Director Bozi Copic — Hailing from the Adriatic coast of Croatia, Bozi joined Seabourn 18 years ago in 2004. He worked in a variety of positions, including waiter and food and beverage manager, before being promoted to his current role as hotel director in 2018. His favorite part about his job is creating Seabourn Moments for guests. In fact, he recently joined the ship in drydock and he has been thinking about how to deliver the best travel experience to guests who are joining the ship. Bozi said, “We are looking forward to the restart in February and to welcome our guests back on board Seabourn Encore.”
Guest Services Manager Christiane Haas — Born and raised in the beautiful country of Austria, Christiane began working in the hospitality industry from a very young age, having a tourism background stemming from her parents. She started her career in hospitality in food & beverage and obtained a college diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management at the Tourism School in Bad Gleichenberg, Austria. After a year of working in the Maldives and receiving her first experience in the Front Office department at a resort, she started her journey with Seabourn in 2016 as a Guest Services Operator on Seabourn Encore, where she was part of the inaugural team. Since then, she has worked on all five ships in the ocean fleet and moved up through the ranks until she became Guest Services Manager at the beginning of 2019. After a successful re-opening of Seabourn Odyssey last July, she is excited to be once again part of a re-opening team and to soon be welcoming guests back on board Seabourn Encore.
Cruise Director Robert Brendan — Robert started his professional career in a vocal group titled “The Twelve Tenors” with residencies in the USA followed by sold-out tours worldwide. He worked extensively as an entertainer all over Europe, as well as theatre tours in the UK including that old British ‘thigh-slapping’ tradition of Pantomime. He joined the Seabourn family in 2012 on Seabourn Sojourn as part of the Belinda King Productions cast of singers and dancers. Following this, Robert became an Assistant Cruise Director and then eventually Cruise Director. Robert was on Seabourn Odyssey when the ship restarted operations last July. “I’m thrilled to be back once again as a small part of reopening Seabourn Encore, and I hope our guests enjoy their cruise!” Robert said.
