Seabourn’s 2022 Northern Europe Sailings Update

We have modified our itineraries on Seabourn Ovation that were originally scheduled to visit St. Petersburg, Russia this year. The new itineraries provide you with the opportunity to visit a number of destinations rich in history, culture, world-class architecture and beautiful landscapes, including calls in Scandinavia, Western and Northern Europe and the Norwegian Fjords, including Gothenburg and Helsingborg, Sweden; Ulvik and Farsund, Norway; Aalborg, Denmark; Amsterdam, The Netherlands and more.

Seabourn Ovation will be sailing the region June through September 2022 offering voyages from 7 to 28 days embarking in Lisbon, Copenhagen, Dover (London) and Barcelona.

Each of Seabourn Ovation’s updated sailings will visit Copenhagen, the Royal City and Denmark’s capital since 1417. The largest metropolis in Scandinavia, Copenhagen is rich in history, culture and beauty. The city has first-class hotels and restaurants in historic settings, open spaces and lively street life, and a treasure trove of architecture. Copenhagen’s highlights include the National Gallery of Denmark, which holds 240,000 works of art, the Ny Carlsberg Museum with its spectacular collection of ancient sculptures, Tivoli Gardens, and Rosenborg Castle, where the Danish Crown Jewels are exhibited.

Our new itinerary offerings include:

7-Day Gems of Scandinavia – Round-trip Copenhagen – July 2 & 30, 2022
Beginning and ending in Copenhagen, guests will visit:

  • Gothenburg, a major city in Sweden, known for its Dutch-style canals and leafy boulevards lined with cafés and shops, as well as the stunning Gothenburg Botanical Gardens.
  • Ulvik, known as the orchard of Norway, where guests can visit local cider farms and enjoy lush mountains, the gleaming fjord, and some of the best views the Hardanger region has to offer.
  • Farsund, the pearl of the south, you can take a cruise of the fjord and harbor, stroll through the downtown area’s boutiques and shops, or visit the beaches and Lista Lighthouse.
  • Aalborg, a bustling university city that features a unique blend of modern and historic sites including Lindholm Høje (an ancient Viking burial site), Voergard Castle, and the spectacular waterfront of iconic architectural buildings.

7-Day Scandinavia & Germany – Round-trip Copenhagen – July 9 & August 6, 2022
After departing Copenhagen, guests will sail to:

  • Arendal, a beautifully preserved historical city where guests can watch the artisans at the Heimdal Chocolate Factory and indulge in their chocolates, or visit the Bomuldsfabriken Kunsthall, southern Norway’s largest gallery for contemporary art.
  • Oslo, Norway’s largest city, where they will be able to sample an abundance of world-class architecture, museums, restaurants and shopping, or step back in time to explore the medieval splendor of Akershus Castle.
  • Helsingborg is a coastal gem with a beautiful waterfront complete with restaurants, galleries and shops and the Sofiero Palace and Gardens, the old summerhouse of Sweden’s royal family.
  • Wismar where guests can visit the largest Market Square in Germany, wander through the Altstadt (old town), a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site, or tour the majestic splendor of Fairytale Castle Schwerin.
  • Rønne (Bornholm), an island that is a favorite summer getaway for Danes and features rolling countryside, ruined castles, their distinctive round churches, and historic towns that appear as living museums.

7-Day Gems of the Low Countries – Copenhagen to Dover (London) – August 27, 2022
From Copenhagen, we sail to:

  • Wismar, one of the hidden gems of Germany, where guests can visit the largest Market Square in Germany, wander through the Altstadt (old town), a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site, or tour the majestic splendor of Fairytale Castle Schwerin.
  • Amsterdam for a two-day overnight stay, giving guests extra time to explore this delightfully attractive city that is home to many of the world’s great art treasures, unique architectural styles of the past blended with superb modern structures, and romantic canals.
  • Zeebrugge (Bruges), guests will find a romantic medieval town with even more canals, and they can travel to Bruges, known for its superlative lace-making and hand-crafted chocolates.
  • Cherbourg (Normandy), situated along the English Channel and believed to rest on the site of an ancient Roman station.
  • Dover, England to disembark. Home of the famed White Cliffs, Dover is about two hours by car from London, Britain’s capital city. In addition to the art, architecture, food and fashion that London is known for, if guests spend time after their cruise exploring the city they will be visiting in the year of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Enjoy special events offered to celebrate Her Majesty’s reign such as the Buckingham Palace tour summer opening that includes a special exhibition of portraits, Superbloom when the Tower of London moat is transformed into a sea of flowers, and The Queen’s Coronation exhibit at Windsor Castle.

7-Day Scandinavian Hidden Treasures – Dover (London) to Copenhagen – September 3, 2022
Beginning in Dover, England, home of the famed White Cliffs, and about two hours by car from London, Britain’s capital city. Guests on this itinerary will visit:

  • Antwerp, famous for its World Diamond Center and Golden Age Central Railway Station, from which they can also visit Brussels, the Belgian capital and also the capital of the European Union, one of Europe’s most important cities for business, politics and culture boasting over 80 museums.
  • Farsund, the pearl of the south, where they can take a cruise of the fjord and harbor, stroll through the downtown area’s boutiques and shops, or visit the beaches and Lista Lighthouse.
  • Oslo, Norway’s largest city, will allow them to sample an abundance of world-class architecture, museums, restaurants and shopping, or step back in time to explore the medieval splendor of Akershus Castle.
  • Gothenburg, a major city in Sweden, known for its Dutch-style canals and leafy boulevards lined with cafés and shops, as well as the stunning Gothenburg Botanical Gardens.
  • Aarhus, Denmark’s second-largest city that was originally a Viking settlement, offering attractions such as a 12th-century cathedral, the modern ARoS Art Museum, a Tivoli amusement park with four roller coasters right in the city center, and a large Botanical Gardens.
  • Copenhagen, where they will disembark.
