Explore the South Pacific on an Ultra-luxury Expedition
The new year beckons with the expedition of a lifetime. Seize this moment to join us on the ultra-luxury, purpose-built Seabourn Pursuit for her inaugural sailings to the alluring islands of the South Pacific.
The South Pacific is home to some of the least-traveled islands and atolls in the world, making it the perfect destination for you to discover new and hidden gems. Explore unspoiled coral reefs with diverse fish populations, marvel at relics of World War II action in the Pacific Theater, and visit incredible local communities that are open to sharing their traditions and homes amid life in one of the most remote regions on Earth.
Get ready for moments you’ll treasure for years to come as you explore untouched archipelagos, witness the Baining Fire Dance in Rabaul, snorkel the vibrant reefs of Ghizo Island, and spot white terns on uninhabited Gaferut Island.
Highlights of our expedition voyage experiences in the South Pacific include:
- The Rom Dance on Ambrym — Experience the elaborate costumes and rhythmic energy of the ceremonial Rom dance on the volcanic island of Ambrym, Vanuatu. The local people believe the sacred ritual, performed only by men, helps influence the coming harvests.
- Fiji’s Sawa-I-Lau Caves — Swim in the turquoise saltwater caves on Yasawa Island where the movie The Blue Lagoon was filmed. Bathed by the sun’s rays, the first cave’s water glows. A short underwater passage leads to a second, hidden chamber.
- WWII History on Chuuk — Discover relics of World War II at this one-time Japanese stronghold. Snorkel among shipwrecks and supply vehicles that now serve as artificial reefs, or ride by Zodiac® to Eten Island, where dense jungle is slowly overtaking the ruins of a former airport.
- A Rare Visit to Garove Island — The friendly residents of Garove Island will come out to meet our ship in their outrigger canoes as we make our way ashore. Their island is not an atoll but a submerged volcano with a lovely horseshoe-shaped caldera and coral walls teeming with life.
